Part 2: The People Behind the Numbers

The 89 Percent Project launched in April by reporting that the overwhelming majority of the world’s people — 80 to 89% — want governments to take stronger climate action. Now, led by The Guardian, the next phase of the project explores the people behind the numbers: Who are they? Why do they care? Are they surprised to learn that they are, in fact, the majority? Through online surveys and “person in the street” interviews, journalists and news outlets everywhere are invited to craft short profiles of individuals who personify this little known but potentially game changing social force. The goal is to produce a vivid, factually grounded portrait of the global climate majority in all its diversity and potential. Check out The Guardian’s call-out here.
